It seems that eczema, asthma, hayfever and allergies in general are on the increase.
The truth is, nobody is really saying whether this is due to environmental factors or what culd be causing this problem.
People are certainly eating more processed foods overall, as we all seem to be becoming busier. It is all too easy and much quicker too to open a packet and put in the microwave, rather than preparing fresh food and cooking it the old fashioned way. Convenience food is also cheaper than wholesome produce, but it looks like we could end up paying a much higher price in the end – our health.
The use of harsh chemicals in cosmetics, washing powders, too many pesticides and other chemicals in farming could also be playing a role.
As much as it is impossible to avoid all those things completely, it is relatively easy to make some simple changes.
Go back to basics with your food – plenty of fruit and vegetables, fresh, if possible, start cooking your meals from scratch, use organic produce if you at all can.
Get unperfumed cosmetics, stop using anything unnecessary like highly scented creams and soaps. Get some plain cheap washing powder and stop using fabric conditioner altogether, it has been known to agravate eczema.
Make these few simple changes and you should soon start seeing a difference in your eczema as well as your overall health.
