What is the cause of eczema? I asked When I saw the poor results of conventional eczema medications, which told me
there was more to this condition than many people knew about.
I was tired of dealing with my son's dermatitis. Living with eczema meant living with itchy skin, occasional sleepless nights because of the itching, humiliation and embarrassment in public because of the redness of the skin, bumps filled with water as well as occasional small blisters and lines on the skin.
When I applied some medications on my son's eczema, the symptoms were treated but not really the cause of it. So I figured that for us (a battle of a mother and a son against dermatitis) to get rid of this skin condition, we should get rid of the causes of eczema for good.
Although we already lived in the 21st century, I find it quite strange that up to now there is no definitive answer as to the exact medical causes of eczema. Some people may have different triggering factors for eczema and their cause of eczema maybe completely opposite from what caused my son's eczema.
After reading many articles from different sources, I realized many publications and sufferers said that the most common eczema causes are food allergies and exposure to environmental and physical irritants. Other medical causes of eczema are recurrent skin infections, viruses and even emotional stress.
The environmental triggers of eczema like the exposure to heat and cold are usually exhibited when there is a change of season.
The physical irritants on the other hand can be because of wearing tight fitted jeans, contact with cosmetics, use of soaps and laundry detergents.
The cause of eczema on my son's skin was mainly a food intolerance, but also there were physical irritants like specific clothing materials that contributed to the problem.
I found out about some of the allergens after my doctor did some patch testing on my son's skin. Also, I decided to keep a log to see what foods where causing eczema. I found the culprits...That's when I decided that it was time to make some lifestyle changes on my son's daily diet amongst others.
Avoiding the foods that triggered eczema was the simplest way to try get rid of his eczema. However I noticed it was not enough for him.
I also found out that cleansing the body from toxins could stop eczema, which is a very common cause of eczema in adults. I make sure until this day his diet plan is not only good for treating his eczema but also for the cleansing organs in the body like liver, skin and kidneys.
As a bonus, I don't only get to enjoy seeing my son's skin free from eczema but I am proud to say that he is healthier than before. it was all possible through being persistent enough to apply the solutions I found. I cured my son's eczema and you can too!
